Since Victorian times, Bournemouth has been a tourism centre for the United Kingdom; in siting our office here we have had to consider some of the very different aspects that this brings to our world of private investigation. In many other towns, the population is largely static, however in a town like Bournemouth, especially during the summer months, the population and it's needs become very different; this is exacerbated by the town's relatively recent University status
Local Investigator Andy Cross says: " It is very common for me to receive a telephone call from one of our other offices asking me to arrange for local surveillance, invariably on behalf of a client in another part of the country who needs a holidaymaker, student or business visitor watched for whatever reason - often at an airport. If I'm lucky, it may involve summertime observation on the beach (isn't life hard?); if I am unlucky, it will invariably mean hanging around Old Christchurch Road in the small hours on a Saturday night while everyone else is out enjoying themselves."
Of course, the reverse applies; one of the advantages of being part of a major network is that it is very easy for me to call a colleague elsewhere in the country and arrange for work to be conducted, say, in London. This provides a major benefit to our clients - whether they are a corporate, private or legal customer - in that expenses are minimised. I still miss the beach in summer, though
